who we are

Hey there! Welcome to discovery college!

We’re a space where you can learn about mental health and well-being in ways that feel safe, inclusive, and meaningful.
From courses and panels to podcasts and digital content, we’re all about creating free spaces for people to explore mental health in their own way.

We’re youth-focused, but we’re for everyone.

Who we are

Our team is a mix of:

  • People with lived and living experience
  • Educators
  • Mental health professionals

Meet the team here

We work together to create learning spaces to support understanding and change in how we think and talk about mental health.

We are a part of headspace Early Psychosis and Alfred Health.

What we’re about

Learning 🧠

Learning looks different for everyone, and we’re here to give you options.
Whether it’s a course, a panel, our podcast, or some quick digital content, you get to choose what works best for you.

We don’t want to create barriers for learning so we are free and open to everyone.

All Things Co! 🤝

Co-production is at the heart of what we do—but what does that even mean?
For us, it is about building learning with, not for people. It is about bringing people along for the whole journey.

We team up with:

  • People with lived experience
  • Mental health professionals
  • Carers
  • Community members (like YOU!)

Everyone brings something unique to the table, and together, we create better stuff.

Connection 💬

Connection matters—for all of us. We hope to support connection in many ways.

It might look like coming along to an online or in person course or listening to our podcasts on the go.
Connection could come from hearing lots of different perspectives on different topics in mental health.
Connection could look like working with us in a meaningful way to bring your unique expertise.

Community 🌍

We might focus on youth, but mental health isn’t just a young person’s thing.

Young people live in communities, they have families and friends and they access mental health services run by professionals.
So we build and run courses that focus on the mental health experiences of young people but open the courses up to everyone because we think that the more communities know about how to support young people the better off young people (and their communities) will be.

Curiosity 👀

Mental health can be complicated, and there’s no one “right” way to see it.
At discovery college, we invite you to get curious, try on new perspectives, and maybe see things in a fresh way.
